How do I dispose of the packaging?

Once La Pommade is empty, snip off the end of the aluminum tube, remove any remaining product, and place the aluminum directly into your household recycling bin. Flatten the outer carton and place it into your standard paper recycling.

Can I use La Pommade with other actives?

We recommend keeping it simple. Avoid layering La Pommade with exfoliating acids or other retinoid products. Pair it with a gentle cleanser and hydrating serum to help support your skin’s barrier.

How long before I see results?

You may notice smoother-looking texture and improved hydration in 2–4 weeks. With consistent use, you may see longer-term benefits — like the appearance of softened fine lines and a more even-looking tone — after 6–8 weeks.

    Hate that I Love It

    Hate that I like it so much because of the price point. I find that my face remains moisturized through the morning. Definitely will be using it the “gentle” way until my skin can handle full strength. I did find that it is hard to squeeze out and once you do get it to come out it feels like 1/4 of the tube was empty to begin with. Love the aluminum package but it can definitely use some improvements. Overall I am very pleased with the product quality itself.

    Thanks so much for your feedback. We are sorry to hear that you've had trouble with the tube. We recommend massaging the tube for a few seconds to make the semi-solid more malleable and easier to come out. The aluminum tube is really key to keeping the retinoid stable over time, so that the last use is as consistent as the first.

    Thanks to feedback like yours, we are now working on a metal "key" to assist with getting product out of the tube which we hope to have ready for when you're ready to re-stock!

    I wish I didn't buy this. It feels like Vaseline and I think the retinol is a weak form. When I saw the ornate box, I knew I paid too much.

    Thank you for taking the time to try La Pommade and send us feedback. We are sorry to hear that you your expectations were not met. La Pommade has been designed to feel much like Vaseline (petrolatum) in order to reap the benefits of a retinoid-in-ointment. This pharmacy-inspired, occlusive film allows for a noticeable reduction in transepidermal water loss that happens as we sleep, basically, the water in your skin evaporating into the air. While not as occlusive as petrolatum, our formula prevents much of the dry out you get from retinol serums and creams. This format also assists with ingredient penetration, which is optimized with added penetration enhancers that don't include PEGs.
    Indeed La Pommade uses a gentle retinyl ester rather than stronger retinal, as it is designed to be well-tolerated by sensitive skin types who can't use conventional retinols. We believe in consistency over intensity. In future, we may develop a full-strength version, if our customers show a pattern of requesting this option. We did try this in our testing period, though it was too intense for our founder, so will have to wait.
